Sekani Thomas, also known as KAYINBEATS is 3rd generation professional percussionist who began his musical journey as an understudy with Teye Sa Thiosanne African Drum and Dance Company at the age of 6 under the direction of Yiriba Thomas and Terrence Uzoma Nelson. He turned professional at the age of 11 and is currently still an active member at age 22.

While there he  began training with Master Djembe Fola  Moussa Traore of Mali West Africa at age 12  , with Grand Master Mamady Keita at age 14 and with Grand Master Famadou Konate at age 17.  With this careful guidance and training he was able to turn professional, tour nationally and internationally at an early age. Sekani is still currently an active member of Teye Sa Thiosanne African Drum and Dance Company at age 22.

Along with his training at a young age, he started Audio engineering and producing Hip-Hop Instrumentals using "Image Line Software". Trap, Electronic, Techno-trance, Funk , R&B and many other genres of music have had an influence on his Musical Compositions & Instrumentals.

At age 19, he made his hobby and passion (Music) his career and has been successful ever since.

Not only is he an amazing "Djembe Fola" (djembe player), he is versed in various styles of hand drumming. He is a very skilled "Conguero" playing nationally and internationally in various groups, Funk Bands, Afro Cuban Jazz Bands and African Drum & Dance Company's. He records his own songs and produces instrumentals for himself, Internet Streaming and Public Listening. He also produces instrumentals for select artists, Dj's and Performers all across the world. Most recently Sekani performed to a sold out audience with Grammy award winning Magettee Fall and his Group Generation Percu at Barnsdale Theatre and Gallery in Hollywood.

Sekani currently resides in San Diego, California where continues his research and production.  He believes that music is magic, healing and entertainment and welcomes all who come to share and receive these gifts.

" I spread knowledge and illumination through music and entertainment to all the misguided youth of the 21st century,  I proclaim, declare and decree that no entity will stop me from ascending and achieving my goals. I first started making music for my own personal enjoyment. Everybody has their own talents and different ways of expressing  themselves. I feel that all Musicians and Artist with musical talents like myself have a special place in the universe. We create and play music not only for our own personal enjoyment, but we also create and play for those who can’t. The ones who want to learn, we teach them. Music is magic, healing and entertainment. How can one song or DJ, all in one instant control the emotions of 10,000 people at a concert? I could have chosen to walk many different paths, but the way of music is the path with the least amount of resistance in my life. In life you must stand in your own truth, be wise with the time you have and find your path and do not stray away."
